31 Days of Worldwide Flavors for National Nutrition Month: Day 28

For working day 28 of my “31 of Global Flavors” series, dietitian and close friend Christy Wilson talks about her love for mangos!

Mangos

Christy’s variety one particular world taste is mango. It has a tropical, citrus taste that is so juicy and refreshing. Mangos are a minimal sour, a tiny sweet, and a good deal scrumptious! There are often a number of kinds of mangos in time all 12 months extended so I can constantly discover it at my neighborhood grocery keep. Mangos contain fiber, which is excellent for gut wellbeing and helps us sense complete and satisfied, and they contain over 20 different nutritional vitamins and minerals together with vitamins A and C.

Mangos are pretty adaptable and can be eaten by on their own, mixed with other fruits, vegetables, grains and herbs, or muddled or blended into drinks and desserts. I love eating magos as a dessert or snack with a minor added lime juice and my most loved chili lime seasoning, Tajin. As a address, I puree fresh mango and make it into paletas (frozen pops)! I found that, particularly when my young ones have been more youthful, this was a exciting way to supply my children fruit and they loved it! I also like mixing diced fresh mango with cucumber, jicama and a small cilantro for a sweet, contemporary and crunchy combo. Here’s my recipe for Mango Chile Limon Paletas (frozen pops)– delight in!
